Current vacancy: Tiler

Position Title: Tiler
Location: Riverina Region and Surrounds
Company: PCR Building Services
Reports To: Commercial Project Manager

Purpose
The purpose of this position is to deliver high-quality surface tiling services across PCR Building Services’ insurance and commercial projects. The Tiler plays a key role in maintaining the company’s standards for workmanship, safety, and professionalism, ensuring every project meets client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Position Summary
The Tiler is responsible for all aspects of surface preparation, layout, installation, and finishing of tiles across PCR’s diverse project portfolio. This role involves close collaboration with site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to achieve timely, compliant, and aesthetically precise results. The position requires technical skill, accuracy, and commitment to PCR’s core values of quality, safety, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Workmanship
• Prepare and level surfaces in accordance with specifications and relevant standards.
• Measure, cut, lay, and grout tiles (ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, and natural stone).
• Install waterproofing systems in compliance with AS 3740 and AS 3958.1.
• Ensure tiles are aligned, spaced, and finished to professional standards.
• Conduct post-installation cleaning, sealing, and quality assurance checks.

Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Maintain PCR’s workmanship and safety standards at all times.
• Complete work in accordance with project documentation and building codes.
• Identify and report any defects, variations, or hazards promptly.
• Follow PCR’s WHS policies and ensure adherence to site-specific SWMS.

Material & Equipment Management
• Calculate and requisition materials accurately to prevent waste and delays.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Ensure all tiling materials and adhesives are handled and stored per manufacturer guidelines.

Teamwork & Communication
• Liaise with project managers and other trades to coordinate project sequencing.
• Maintain clear communication with team members and supervisors.
• Represent PCR professionally in all client and subcontractor interactions.

Continuous Improvement
• Participate in ongoing training and skills development.
• Provide feedback on materials, methods, or workflow improvements.
• Support company initiatives aimed at efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications and Experience
• Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in residential, commercial, or insurance tiling projects.
• Current NSW Construction Induction (White Card).
• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Demonstrated understanding of waterproofing and Australian Standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Projects completed on time, within scope, and budget.
• Compliance with WHS and quality standards maintained at 100%.
• Less than 2% defect rate upon completion of works.
• Positive client feedback regarding professionalism and workmanship.
• Accurate completion of site documentation (Buildern/Dash Pivot).
• Active participation in toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Working Conditions
This is a full-time role based in the Riverina region, with travel required across project sites. Work may include indoor and outdoor environments and involve manual labour, kneeling, lifting, and operating hand tools. Occasional after-hours work may be required to meet project deadlines.
